Silvia Krupinska was born in Poprad, Slovak Republic in 1980 and very early on she made sure her love of art and the determination to pursue an artistic career were clear and evident to everyone. From her first canvas board made by her parents using an old cabinet board and linen to the beginning of her arts education at a local arts school after her day classes, Krupinska's evolution and clarity of purpose were notable and unequivocal.
The move to London followed at eighteen and in that city (where Krupinska since then resides) her artistic education continued its steady progress with a Pre-Foundation course taken at The Institute in Hampstead, culminating with her Foundation course and BA (Honours) Degree in Painting—Fine Art awarded by the University of the Arts, London—Chelsea School of Art and Design in 2006.
Krupinska has been exhibiting internationally, including a show in Palace Albrizzi as a part of Venice Biennale 2009. She participated in the International Recycling Art Symposium in Hartberg (Austria, November 2010) and in the oneforone show (in Stour Space and The View Tube) in London, 2011. Her work featured also in the annual Q-Art London show in the APT Gallery in December 2011.
She is bringing her work to Gabala, Azerbaijan in December 2011 for an international exhibition about the soil and the environment, and a busy year will culminate with another international show, London Calling at the Orange County Center of Contemporary Art, California, from December 21st to January 12th.
She has been given commissions for special arts projects, including the two-minute painting project film Pass:on (London, 2009), international arts symposium Land Art (Lafnitztal, Austria, 2006) and EU–Art–Network symposium in Linz—European Capital of Culture 2009, Austria (which culminated with exhibitions in Eisenstadt and in Venice as part of the 2009 Bienalle, and in Essen, Germany in November 2011).
Silvia Krupinska is represented by Debut Contemporary Gallery in Notting Hill, London, and she is an Artist in residence in Colourful Radio, London with her own live monthly slot introducing Artists of her choice Silvia Krupinska's Artist of the Month.
